The Facts About Biodegradable Plastic

The term ‘biodegradable’ on the surface can be very misleading, with the initial interpretation being a totally environmentally friendly plastic that creates little waste by decomposing back to nature. While it is true these plastics do have biodegradable elements, it is important to know the conditions required around decomposition. Here at Dan Packaging we value our customers and aim to provide them with all the information they need when it comes to packaging and products.

So what does biodegradable actually mean? By definition it is the term used for the decomposition of materials by the action of microorganisms, the degree and rate of decomposition varies depending on the biodegradabel properties of the substance (see below). Why not visit us at Get Me Packaging or over at Dan Packaging Machinery and we will try our best to answer any packaging material or packaging machinery questions you may have.
